Prayers mean you make wishes. “Oh I must take a good rebirth in future lives – my next life.” Whenever you think of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha you make a wish, “I must take a good rebirth.” A good rebirth means with the facilities to practice Dharma. Good rebirth doesn’t mean rich family, nice house - it doesn’t mean that. It means that the conditions to practice Dharma are met, that is considered a good rebirth, so you can continue to practice Dharma."
